We are looking for bright individuals with Applied Sciences, Information Technology or Mathematics background, eager to learn to design complex automated intra-logistic systems for most challenging customer applications.

SIMULATION ENGINEER

Job Description: 

To provide specialist/expert Simulation support to Dematic regional Sales Teams.

This role is critical to the success of complex projects and is accomplished through direct interface with stakeholders at multiple points in the process, starting with a clear understanding of the customer and their needs and ending with onsite support and guidance as required to ensure the site is functioning as planned and in accordance with ‘what was sold’.

 Principal Activities:

  • Development of Simulation Models of materials handling solutions to validate and improve proposed designs;
  • Clear and effective communication of Simulation assumptions and results within the company, and to customers;
  • Work with software and engineering teams to ensure that Simulation Models correctly represent the behaviour of real systems;
  • Development of standard, re-useable modules of Simulation code.

General Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to write scripts and to learn new scripting languages;
  • Knowledge of materials handling would be an advantage;
  • Experience of computer Simulation, especially with AutoMod Simulation software, would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of French, German, Spanish, or Italian would be an advantage.

Special conditions:

  • Once established in the role, there will be a possibility of working remotely;
  • There will be the need to support projects across the EMAR Region and possibly other countries as well (USA/Australia);
  • Travel outside of the ‘home country’, mainly across Europe but occasionally to other destinations, will be required;
  • The post holder will be required to work outside the core business hours;
  • Some early starts and or weekend work might be required.
