Job description

We now require an energetic, enthusiastic, and diligent team member to join our international Finance team as we move to develop our new Lithuanian platform and in-house virtual shared finance support across Europe.    You will be part of our EU Finance Accounting Team and manage the full AP function and be integral in leading an expanding team. You will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the Accounts payable accounting services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The European Accounts Payable and Finance Administration Manager must perform a wide range of job duties and responsibilities. These include and are not limited to:

  • Managing the accounts payable function
  • Ensuring the team's work is accurate and all transactions are approved and processed in accordance with the company and regulatory accounting policies and controls
  • Ensuring the team is allocating purchase orders (if applicable) and resolving any issues – regular liaison with Materials Controller/Procurement to ensure all POs are created, processed and allocated correctly
  • Resolve Accounts Payable and supplier related issues as well as internal / external enquiries
  • Managing and processing the employee expense claims' process including fuel expenses and credit card expenses and reconciliations
  • Managing, processing and allocating bank transactions and monthly banking reconciliations
  • Planning and execution of the supplier payment runs
  • Managing the accuracy of the Supplier database on our accounting system
  • Deliver AP month end close out deliverables within prescribed cut off points and reporting deadlines
  • After 6 months familiarisation, partner with relevant departments principally procurement and IT to lead buy to pay digitisation initiatives
  • Manage the Assistant European AP and Finance Administrator
  • Maintain confidentiality in respect of work undertaken
  • Occasional support to other finance processes and opportunity to learn other key financial activities e.g., Accounts receivable, VAT and statistical returns
  • Collate and provide supporting documentation for internal and external audits as and when required
  • Opportunity and ability to travel to our various EU operating locations

Requirements

The more common skills and attributes that are most needed for this role may include:

  • 2+ years of relevant working experience in AP or accounting.
  • Understanding of basic accounting and accounts payable principles, including general ledger accounting – Qualification/ Certification in Accounting is an advantage
  • Good leadership skills, behaviours and ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • English language skills, preferably B2 or higher
  • Other language skills, especially German, would be beneficial
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting packages
