OPS SAFETY MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate hazard identification, risk analysis and management,
- Ensure implementation and continuously maintaining Flight Data Analysis (FDA) program;
- Monitor the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks, as listed in the safety action plan;
- Provide periodic reports on safety performance;
- Ensure maintenance of safety management documentation;
- Ensure that there is safety management training available and that it meets acceptable standards;
- Provide advice on safety matters;
- Ensure initiation and follow-up of internal occurrence/accident investigations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Full-time experience of 2 years in aviation, in the capacity of an aviation safety or quality/compliance manager;
- Knowledge of basic safety investigation techniques.
- Knowledge of human factors in aviation;
- Knowledge of the company’s operations, procedures and activities;
- Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and have completed appropriate SMS training;
- An understanding of Risk Management principles and techniques to support the SMS;
- Experience and qualifications in conducting safety or quality/compliance audits and inspections;
- Ability to communicate at all levels both inside and outside the company;
- Ability to be firm in conviction, promote a ―just and fair culture‖ and yet advance an open and non-punitive atmosphere for reporting;
- Ability and confidence to communicate directly to the accountable executive as his advisor and confidante;
- Well developed communication skills and demonstrated interpersonal skills of a high order, with the ability to liaise with a variety of individuals and organizational representatives;
- Computer literacy and superior analytical skills.
