Operational Governance team responsible for operating Validating Controls for ITIL Processes (Asset, Configuration, Software, Incident, Change, Problem and others as appropriate). Operation of Validating Controls supports Process Governance Framework and helps to ensure that various Process Standards are being complied with.
The shared responsibility of all Operational Governance staff, and a key responsibility of the Operational Governance Analyst, is to ensure that reliable, repeatable and accurate data is produced in a form of Process Scorecards which are then used by Estate Management, Platforms and Business Unit representatives to maintain compliance within the risk appetite.
Your Role
  • Capture complete and accurate KPI data relating various ITIL processes in scope using SQL and Service Now reporting tools.
  • Manipulate the data using Excel, SQL and Tableau and produce KPI relating to various Validating Controls.
  • Operate sampling controls by taking a sample of Configuration Items, Change, Incident and Problem records and run compliance checks to ensure they meet validation criteria.
  • Following validation tests compile exception reports relevant to a particular Platform or Business Unit being tested.
  • Support Risk & Control with any regulatory, audit and controls gap remediation issues. Report any data quality issues identified during Validating Controls operation process to Data Quality Management team for remediation.
  • Share appropriate knowledge so that Service Governance & Control teams and stakeholders have skills and ability to carry out their roles effectively.
  • Manage and promote best practice on governance, non-compliances and ITIL processes, Procedures and Technologies.
  • Ensure that Operational Governance is highly visible bank-wide as a centre of excellence for governance reporting. 
Essential Skills
  • At least basic SQL knowledge.
  • Intermediate Excel skills for data manipulation.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, both orally and in writing, with, colleagues, clients and customers at all levels, both formally and informally.
  • Good analytical skills and creative thinking skills, quick learner .
Desirable Skills
  • ITIL qualification.
  • Ability to produce and maintain documentation.
  • Awareness of/experience of Configuration or Asset Management processes, Change Management or incident Management modules.
  • Working knowledge of Service Now .
