Context

Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, the Bookkeeper will serve as a key member of the finance and admin team by applying his/her financial and accounting expertise to support a programs portfolio, as well as ensuring that projects budgets are being successfully completed in compliance with Internews internal policies and funder requirements.

Core Functions/Responsibilities

Monitors documentation to ensure compliance with funder requirements and Internews policies and procedures;
Responsible for timely and accurate accounting entries including accounts payable, petty cash, vacation accruals and general accounting entries;
Prepares wire transfer requests, prepares and controls Expense Reimbursement Forms;
Assists with local accounting duties in compliance with Lithuanian legislation using local accounting program Rivile;
Assists Regional Finance Manager and Accountant with month and year end activities, preparation of Local Annual Financial Reports;
Understands, demonstrates commitment, and upholds Internews Core Values;
Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

1+ accounting experience or student of final years in accounting/finance;
Fluency in Lithuanian and good command of English (written specifically);
Understanding of Lithuanian tax and accounting principles;
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;
Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively;
Analytical and problem-solving ability.

Experience with Rivile accounting software
