Job description
- Leading an Accounting team and supervising a number of staff positions, forecasting staffing needs and allocating resources to ensure a timely completion of work.
- Preparing standalone financial statements and regulatory filings according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Being accountable for the regular monthly routine processes and controls: journal entries revision, trial balance analytical review, analysis of complex balance sheet accounts in accordance with GAAP and Western Union accounting policies, etc.
- Working with business partners to analyze and resolve financial reporting issues.
- Cooperating with auditors, tax advisors and regulators.
- Providing leadership in initiating and implementing process improvements.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Economics or a similar field.
- 4-6 years of experience in accounting.
- Good understanding of what impacts financial statements and how it links with accounting, tax, treasury, and other parts of business.
- Being analytically minded as well as customer focused. If you have the desire and ability to take a strong leadership role and can influence actions to create real change then this could be the perfect role.
- Previous experience with Lean methodology would be an advantage.
