We are currently seeking a colleague to join our group and help develop and oversee comprehensive Health and Safety programs across a group of Ignitis Renewable Group of companies. You will contribute to the creation of a green and secure energy ecosystem by:
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive Health & Safety strategy aligned with the companys business objectives and sustainability goals
- Ensure full compliance with ISO 45001 and other applicable local and international health and safety regulations
- Leading risk identification, assessment, and mitigation across all project phasesfrom design and construction to operation and decommissioning
- Overseeing incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions
- Promoting a strong H&S culture through employee training, leadership engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Acting as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, contractors, and internal stakeholders regarding H&S matters
- Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), conducting internal audits, and providing regular reports to senior leadership
- Managing emergency preparedness and ensuring the development and testing of crisis response plans
Required for this position:
- University degree or equivalent higher education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related technical/scientific discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Health & Safety, including at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role
- Experience in large international organisations, ideally within the energy, renewables, or infrastructure sectors within matrix organisational structures
- In-depth knowledge of European Health & Safety legislation, ISO standards (especially ISO 45001), and international best practices
- Strong leadership capabilities with a continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal; proficient in IT tools and systems
- Knowledge of regional labour codes and occupational safety legislation
- Hands-on experience with risk assessments, accident investigations, and safety compliance procedures
- Familiarity with fire safety, first aid, employee training, and internal documentation protocols
