Mechanical Engineer (UAV / USV Systems)

About the job

The company is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the development of its Falcon and HydroHex unmanned systems, with a particular focus on HydroHex hull design. The role combines mechanical design, hands-on prototyping, testing, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, structures, and assemblies for UAV and USV platforms
• Lead mechanical design of HydroHex hulls and enclosures
• Create CAD models, technical drawings, and production documentation
• Build, test, and improve prototypes using 3D printing, CNC machining, and composite manufacturing
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate complete systems

• At least 2–3 years of experience in mechanical engineering and physical product development
• Strong understanding of materials, structural design, and manufacturing processes
• Ability to take designs from concept through prototyping and testing
• Practical, hands-on approach to engineering challenges
• Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken
• Willingness to work on products with military applications

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with glass fibre and/or carbon fibre composites is a very strong advantage
• Working experience with Autodesk Fusion 360 is an advantage
• Experience with marine structures, hulls, or watertight enclosures
• Experience with UAVs, USVs, robotics, or similar systems
• Experience transitioning prototypes into serial production
