The BI function plays a critical role in this transformation, supporting strategic decision-making and enabling more than 1,000 internal users across Finance, Operations, Commercial, Supply Chain, and other business functions.

Your responsibilities

As BI Platform Owner, you will combine strategic platform ownership with hands-on leadership, working closely with global stakeholders to shape the future of AAK's data landscape.

• Lead and develop the BI team: Build and manage a high-performing team of BI specialists, initially including Data Engineering, BI Development, and BI Architecture capabilities. Foster a collaborative, accountable, and improvement-driven culture.
• Own the BI platform strategy: Define and execute the long-term vision and roadmap for data integration, data warehousing, reporting, and analytics, aligned with business priorities.
• Drive technology transformation: Lead the evolution from the existing on-premises SQL Server environment towards a modern cloud-based data platform, with a long-term focus on AI-enabled analytics and self-service capabilities.
• Partner with the business: Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Commercial, and IT to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions and prioritised initiatives.
• Ensure platform performance and governance: Oversee data availability, quality, accessibility, and security while maintaining reliable reporting and analytics capabilities.
• Manage investments and external partners: Prioritise platform initiatives, oversee allocated investments, evaluate ROI, and coordinate external technology partners and suppliers.
• Enable data-driven decision-making: Promote BI adoption, improve self-service analytics capabilities, and support users in getting meaningful insights from trusted data.

• Proven experience leading BI, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, or similar technical teams.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, data integration, and enterprise reporting, supported by practical SQL and Python knowledge.
• Experience owning a technical platform, product, or service roadmap, from strategic planning through execution and continuous improvement.
• Ability to translate complex business needs into technical priorities and make well-reasoned, value-driven decisions.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to influence senior business and IT leaders.
• A proactive leadership approach, combining strategic thinking with a willingness to stay close to technology and day-to-day delivery.
• Fluent English, as you will work in an international environment.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Tableau or other enterprise BI and reporting tools.
• Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or Snowflake.
• Understanding of AI-enabled analytics, automation, or emerging data technologies.
• Experience working with external technology vendors and implementation partners.
