Do you want to be a part of shaping the future of fraud prevention in one of the largest financial institutions in Northern Europe?

Now you have that opportunity – to become part the Fraud Machine Learning, Data & Analytics (MLDA) team of our Fraud Management organisation. We are looking for an experienced leader to manage the Data Science team, within our Machine Learning, Data & Analytics area, which is comprised of dedicated experts, within different areas of expertise. The team is responsible for creating high performing machine learning models for the whole fraud area as well as productionisation of these models, data ingestion and documentation.

MLDA is responsible for executing Danske Bank’s Fraud strategy and is currently building up fraud competencies as part of a new fraud detection setup. Our goal is to create an excellent customer experience, and reduce the impact of fraud.

You will play a key role in securing our customers and the bank against fraud on a daily basis using data and Machine Learning. You will work closely with colleagues in payment, card and lending areas in order to align on various work streams and deliverables.

Your official title will be Head of Machine Learning.

The MLDA team is composed of 22 people located in Lithuania, Denmark, India, Norway, UK and Poland.

We cover four distinct areas – data, cards and account-to-account (payments); including the arguably strongest machine learning unit in Danske Bank.

You will:

  • Ensure delivery of top-notch machine learning models for fraud prevention
  • Coordinate team day-to-day work, ensure resolution of roadblocks
  • Act as a thought leader, inspiring discussions on methods and best practices; Ensure continuous education and expansion of competences in the team
  • Proactively seek out new areas of engagement and ways to support financial crime prevention
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, documentation and model risk framework
  • Work closely with colleagues from other entities, including IT departments, to ensure the implementation of our Fraud Strategy

About you:

  • Hands-on implementation experience with machine learning.
  • Formal education in machine learning at minimum post-graduate level, PhD preferred
  • Experience managing teams working in Agile principle
  • Knowledge of fraud investigation process and fraud analysis capabilities will be a distinct advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of data extraction using SQL and data visualization using Tableau will be an advantage
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Experience with fraud monitoring or detection tools is a plus
  • Curious by nature and ability to adjust on evidence-based feedback
  • Willingness and ability to challenge status-quo
  • Eagerness to develop and learn new skills and participate in continued education
  • Can-do attitude and strong collaboration skills
  • Possess an analytical mind set and a fact-based approach
  • Understanding the need of balancing fraud prevention and customer convenience
  • Result-oriented and with a positive mind-set and proactive attitude

We offer

Monthly salary range from 4160 EUR to 6240 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
