Requirements for candidates
- Kubernetes system architecture knowledge and experience in building and maintaining Kubernetes-based configurations
- Good Linux OS administration knowledge and experience
- Experience with Ansible and Helm
- Experience working with Docker - building, maintaining, executing Docker images.
- Knowledge of dockerfiles and their maintenance in Kubernetes
- An open mind and pro-active approach to any obstacles we may face
- A willingness to learn and contribute to our DevOps team future
Bonus points if you have: - Experience using public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP or other)
- Experience in setting up monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus, AWS CloudWatch)
- Logging knowledge (ELK, AWS OpenSearch)
- DevSecOps knowledge
- Some history of IT community work - conferences, meetups etc.
- Mentoring or team leading experience
Job description
At EIS our DevOps team is cooperating with highly talented software development professionals. The team is responsible for the support and improvement of DevOps tools and microservices engineering practices for the whole organization. DevOps work at EIS can be very different, starting from implementing Jenkins pipelines using Groovy scripts, developing Terraform scripts, adjusting Maven, Scala and NPM build processes, extending Helm charts, and ending with researching the best approach to have stable and distilled DevOps practices applied to our product development lifecycle. Our DevOps team is focusing on supporting the engineering side of the organization, which means close collaboration with development, sales and training teams.
The EIS Suite microservice platform has around 100 Kubernetes pods running in non-scaled mode. Our typical CI/CD platform for engineering contains more than 250 VMs which require 2700+ vCPU and 6.5 TB of RAM.
Our short-term DevOps goals:
Increase the reusability of Jenkins pipelines and decentralize the CI/CD platform
Develop the observability platform and introduce Continuous Monitoring practices
Our long-term DevOps goals:
- Introduce layered “as-a-Service” teams
- Strengthen DevOps self-service capabilities
- Establish Internal Developers Platform tooling and practices
- Introduce remocal environments
