Were on the lookout for an Operations and Maintenance Health and Safety Specialist to join our team and uphold the highest safety standards across Ignitis Renewables sites. From wind farms to solar farms and battery energy storage facilities, your role will be to ensure that every task – large or small – is carried out with safety at its heart.
This is a hands-on role, often out in the field, and its not one for those who prefer to stay behind a desk. Expect days where youll be walking across varied terrain and even climbing wind turbines. Were looking for someone who understands the real weight of health and safety – not just as a set of rules, but as a responsibility to people and to the communities we serve.

You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:
- Drawing up and enforcing clear, practical safety policies and guidelines for all operational and maintenance activities
- Carrying out detailed risk assessments and job hazard analyses to spot risks and put the right controls in place
- Investigating any incidents thoroughly and making sure lessons are learned and improvements put into action
- Keeping a watchful eye on contractors activities, ensuring they stick to safety rules, work permits, and carry out work to the highest standards
- Working side by side with colleagues, contractors and regulators to ensure everyone is pulling in the same direction when it comes to safety
- Making sure emergency procedures are well thought out, tested and ready for anything.
Required for this position:
- A higher education qualification in health and safety.
- Certifications like NEBOSH (or similar) are highly valued – if you dont have one yet, well help you get there.
- At least five years experience as a Specialist in the O&M field or similar hands-on roles.
- GWO or equivalent qualifications, plus working at height certifications.
- A sound understanding of the legislation that underpins the role of a health and safety specialist.
- A willingness to keep learning and stay up to date with whats needed in this evolving industry.
- The ability to travel and stay overnight when required.
