We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Network Reliability and Optimization team. This role involves overseeing critical infrastructure components, requiring a profound understanding of public cloud technologies and operations, as our current focus is to run our services in the public cloud.
As a valued leader in our team, you will bring a solid foundation in networking and network security domains. While direct scripting skills are not essential, you should have a strong grasp of automation processes and be able to drive the evolution of network services. The Connectivity Services team offers modern, secure, fast, and reliable services to around 20,000 employees and millions of customers of Danske Bank worldwide.
In this leadership position, you will collaborate closely with other infrastructure teams and architects from development areas to ensure seamless integration and operational excellence. You will play a pivotal role in advancing next-generation technologies that support our software-defined private cloud environment, corporate network, and the strategic migration to public cloud solutions. Your expertise in public cloud technologies will be crucial as we continue to enhance our infrastructure and expand our services in the cloud.
Additionally, a strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices is important for this role. You will leverage SRE methodologies to improve system reliability, scalability, and efficiency, ensuring that our network services meet high standards of performance and availability. Your ability to apply SRE principles will be key in driving continuous improvement across our infrastructure operations.

The workplace is located in Vilnius. Danske Bank supports workplace flexibility (we currently use a hybrid work model, where we work at least 3 days in the office).
You will:
- Lead and inspire a motivated, agile, and aspirational team focused on network reliability and optimization
- Ensure the provision of reliable and efficient services across both private and public cloud environments
- Set a clear vision and establish boundaries, using a facilitative leadership style to guide the team towards fulfilling strategic goals
- Explore and implement innovative practices that empower team members and enhance their effectiveness in delivering high-quality network services
- Drive and oversee the timely end-to-end delivery of infrastructure enhancements and technological advancements
- Collaborate with other infrastructure teams and architects, facilitating technical discussions to integrate SRE practices and improve system reliability and scalability
- Develop and implement effective crisis management strategies to ensure the stability and resilience of critical infrastructure, including continuous process improvement to mitigate risks and enhance operational efficiency
About you:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Extensive experience in public cloud technologies, with a track record of running effective operations across cloud environments
- Over 5 years of technical experience in networking and infrastructure, coupled with 3+ years of leadership experience
- Strong expertise in network domains, with broader infrastructure knowledge and insights into application environments
- Genuine motivation for maintaining operational stability, managing risk and compliance effectively, and ensuring the reliability and resilience of critical infrastructure
- Ability to deliver consistent results, cultivate diverse thinking, facilitate solid discussions, make decisive choices, and implement decisions effectively
- Proactive in seeking and suggesting improvements, skilled at overcoming complex operational challenges, and focused on delivering effective results
- Value teamwork, sharing and expanding knowledge, and analyzing failures as opportunities for improvement
- Advanced English language skills
We offer
Monthly salary range from 5760 EUR to 8640 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
