The Role / Responsibilities

Team Leaders (TL) contribute to the financial analysis of the rating process and have a significant impact on the process.

  • TLs perform a supervisory role, providing guidance to, and mentoring and training Financial Data Analysts and helping to coordinate allocation of work across the team.
  • Key resources for the team in terms of escalation of issues.
  • TLs have a strong understanding of the team’s tasks and deliverables and are key resources for process re-engineering and improvement.
  • Lead projects and work closely with management to ensure all processes are implemented efficiently and effective controls are in place to ensure accurate, timely deliveries.
  • Support managers in reporting on key initiatives and on communicating, coordinating and managing projects and process changes.
  • TLs are key resources for process re-engineering and process improvements, utilizing their expertise to identify inefficiencies, suggest improvements, build consensus and implement the change.
  • Lead trainings and provide informal feedback to team members and outsourcers.
  • Liaise with analysts and managers to ensure clear communication of guidance and escalation of risk factors.

Qualifications

  • B.A. or B.S. degree required; specializations in Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred .
  • Pursuing a certification or advanced degree in a relevant field of study is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Knowledge of Moody’s methodologies, policies and adjustments or equivalent knowledge are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and mentor more junior peers required.
  • Knowledge or prior experience analyzing financial statements is required.
  • Knowledge or prior experience in accounting is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products and particularly Excel, such as pivot tables, lookups, etc.
  • Informal mentoring experience is a plus.
  • Individual must be organized, dependable, able to multi-task and manage priorities, display Initiative, and have the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication (verbal & written), and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Candidate must have the ability to quickly transition as priorities change to meet demands.
    Language skills may be required for certain positions.
