IT Operations Specialist

IT experience with a good knowledge of a broad range of technologies.
3+ years experience with infrastructure, and/or network and/or application engineering
1+ years experience in IT Operations
Experience with IT system monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Solar Winds, etc.
Experience using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow for incident, change, problem, and root cause for service management
Experience in server, and/or network, and/or application configuration, maintenance and performance analysis
Experience automating routine tasks
Strong analysis skills with focus on problem recognition and correlation
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences

Strategic Staffing Solutions International client The Bank of London is looking for an IT Operations Analyst/Engineer to join a team of IT Operations/Engineer specialists responsible for the critical production operations for international financial services. You will be responsible for monitoring, administering, and optimizing production workloads. Using modern technologies, as part of a team you will detect, correlate, and resolve issues that occur in our production workstream. In addition, you will work closely with other engineering teams to determine root cause(s) and execute longer term resolution actions. Additional engineering responsibilities include assisting senior engineers to identify and implement performance and availability improvements in our compute environment. As part of the technology team, you will be responsible for regularly scheduled maintenance and ensuring the compute environment operates efficiently and effectively. Together, the technology team delivers outstanding service to our business partners and customers without disruption.

Responsibilities:

Provide daily monitoring and management of IT services across the company footprint
Provide first and second level technology engineering in the areas of server, network and application components and systems.
Define and ensure adherence to production turnover standards
Drive operational practices including systems monitoring and alerting, operations performance reporting and automation
Collaborate with teammates to ensure the effective deployment and delivery of IT services
Assist with planning, implementation, control and audit of service provision, to meet business requirements
Participate in the continuous improvement of IT Service delivery processes consistent with ITIL standards
Drive first and second level problem determination and resolutions efforts improving personal skills with each iteration
