Team:

Core Payments Tribe is made up of multiple autonomous cross-functional squads consisting of professionals mainly from Denmark, Lithuania, India. The position is in one of such squads – Payments Execution squad, which consists of 6 Cloud (Java) Engineers (2 senior, 2  regular, 1 junior, 1 vacancy) a Chapter Lead (looking for), 3 Business Analysts, a group of product owners and agile coaches. Additionally, other roles within the Tribe are being involved on-demand, e.g., Architects, Infrastructure specialists, etc. Squad’swork is based on 2 weeks length sprints, with supporting Agile ceremonies on squad and Tribe level. Tech stack – Java, Kafka, gRPC, REST, NoSQL and/or classic databases, Kubernetes, private cloud and/or public multi-cloud

Product – Payment Execution Squad is building a part of a new cloud payment engine for Danske Bank to move away from old legacy mainframe systems. Payment Execution Squad is responsible for the payment processing part (orchestration of the payments process) of the engine. There are multiple other Squads within and outside of Tribe contributing to the new Payment engine, e.g., Clearing, Payment Management, Payment Case Handling, AML, Channels, etc. The product is already being developed. All of Danske Bank’s customers will be using it. Next year a part of the product will be launched in Sweden. The product will be used to process all payments of Danske ank Group, e.g., pay and receive money and will include any money coming in or leaving the bank. It is one of the most important products in the whole of Danske Bank.

Responsibilities:

• Design and development of Java-based cloud-native systems
• Continuously learn and develop skills and capabilities - own and team members
• Close collaboration with colleagues to plan and organise work, improve delivery and development practices, quality, maintainability

Must have skills/experience:

• 2+ years of experience with Java (or Java proficiency level allowing to independently deliver good quality systems based on given abstract problem)
• Ability and willingness to continuously learn
• Intermediate verbal and written English Language skills

Nice to have skills/experience:

• Experience with messaging systems such asKafka or MQ
• Knowledge of gRPC, Elasticsearch and other NoSQL data stores
