Job description

The Senior CRR / Regulatory Reporting Expert plays a pivotal role in ensuring the Banks regulatory integrity, acting as a guardian of prudential compliance and a strategic advisor to senior management. Operates at the intersection of regulatory compliance, capital adequacy, and strategic regulatory reporting to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant submission of prudential reports to the European Central Bank (ECB) and other relevant authorities.

This role demands deep expertise in the CRR / CRD, FINREP, LIQREP, and other EBA/ECB/SRB reporting frameworks. The expert will act as a key liaison between Finance, Risk, Retail Banking, Corporate Banking and Technology, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal governance.

  • Regulatory Reporting
    • Supervise preparation and validation of COREP, FINREP, LIQREP, and other EBA/ECB/SRB reports
    • Ensure compliance with CRR/CRD and related technical standards
    • Analyze, assess impact and coordinate implementation of the CRR / CRD provisions under the Standardized Approach and other regulatory changes on regulatory reporting processes
    • Monitor updates from the EBA, ECB, SRB and national regulators (e.g. ITS/RTS changes)
    • Develop and maintain internal regulations and documentation for capital adequacy calculation and regulatory reporting processes
  • Capital Adequacy & Risk
    • Interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization as an expert, facilitate discussions, training sessions and workshops with cross-functional teams, consult and coach responsible stakeholders on the CRR and regulatory reporting requirements.
    • Support capital calculation under the Standardized Approach according to the CRR requirements
    • Collaborate with Risk, Finance and business teams to ensure accurate RWA computation
    • Provide insights on Pillar I metrics and contribute to ICAAP discussions
  • Process & Controls
    • Lead and participate in developments to design and implement robust control framework over capital adequacy calculation and regulatory reporting accuracy, and data quality.
    • Lead and participate in automation and optimization initiatives for capital adequacy calculation and reporting workflows
    • Ensure that compliance and regulatory requirements are captured and implemented across solutions
    • Coordinate and collaborate with Supervisory Authorities and auditors during regulatory reviews

What We Expect: 

  • CRR / CRD Expertise
    • Deep understanding of Pillar I requirements under the Standardized Approach
    • Proficient in RWA calculations for credit, market, and operational risk
    • Familiarity with Pillar II (ICAAP) and Pillar III disclosures
  • Regulatory Reporting Frameworks
    • Expert-level knowledge of:
  • COREP (Capital Adequacy, Large Exposures, Leverage Ratio, ALMM)
  • FINREP (Financial Reporting under IFRS)
  • LIQREP (LCR, NSFR, liquidity monitoring)
  • Resolution Planning (MREL/TLAC, SRB templates)
    • Strong grasp of EBA ITS/RTS and ECB supervisory expectations
  • Data & Systems
    • Experience with regulatory reporting systems
    • Skilled in data lineage, reconciliation, and governance
    • Ability to interpret and validate data from finance, risk, and treasury systems
  • Leadership expertise
    • Previous experience in leadership role (preferably as leader of leaders)

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Finance, Law, Economics, Accounting, or related field
  • 7+ years in regulatory reporting within a banking or financial institution, or experience in the supervision of the banks
  • Experience in the ECB-regulated environments preferred
  • Strong command of English
  • Strategic thinker with attention to detail
  • Proactive in identifying regulatory risks and process improvements
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional, multicultural teams
  • Resilient under pressure and tight deadlines
