We are currently seeking a new colleague to join the Algorithmic Trading and Research unit responsible for trading power on the intraday and day-ahead markets. In this role, you will build, test, and maintain short-term forecasting models to predict renewable power generation and customer consumption. Your work will directly support trading decisions by providing accurate, timely forecasts. You will also have the opportunity to conduct in-depth analyses and apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to improve model performance and trading outcomes. If that speaks to you, wed be happy to welcome you to our team!

You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:  

• Building and validating predictive models
• Adapting and applying advanced forecasting methodologies to address our specific challenges
• Designing and sustaining a robust framework for systematic testing and comparison of forecasting models
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust pipelines for data collection and forecasting
• Utilizing advanced forecasting models to design and optimize algorithmic trading strategies in intraday power markets

• University degree (Data Science, Statistics, Computer science, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics or a closely related field)
• Practical experience with Python, SQL, Git, Apache Airflow
• Experience in applying formal knowledge to build statistical forecasting models (preferably for regression tasks)
• Experience in performing rigorous statistical testing in an academic or industrial setting
• Great communication skills in English (writing and speaking)

Would be an advantage:

• Linux, Apache Airflow, building API microservices (Flask, Fast API, etc.) and small Python applications;
• Practical experience in training neural network models (CNN's or RNN's) for regression tasks using pytorch or Tensorflow
