About the role
When product teams need user guides, instructions or other technical content for reagents, software and instruments, they collaborate with our Technical Communications team.
We are looking for a Scientific and Technical Content Specialist who will gather and analyze technical and product information from scientists, software developers, engineers, product managers, regulatory specialists and other teams, then turn it into clear, accurate and user-friendly documentation.
In this role, you will create content that helps customers use our products more easily and helps scientists achieve their intended results. This is a great opportunity for someone with a scientific background who enjoys writing, can structure complex information clearly and wants to contribute to products that support science, diagnostics and healthcare worldwide.
Key responsibilities
- Create technical end-user documentation for reagent, assay, instrument and software products.
- Develop content for products related to genetic analysis, biomarker discovery, predictive genomics, reproductive health, pathogen detection, disease-specific solutions, forensics and human identification.
- Gather, analyze and clarify information from scientists, product managers, hardware and software engineers, regulatory analysts and other business team members.
- Transform complex scientific and technical information into clear, concise and accurate instructional content.
- Organize content into topics and publications following DITA standards and internal information models.
- Collaborate with product development teams to keep projects moving within tight timelines.
- Actively gather input from product teams and participate in project team meetings.
- Participate in sprint planning, setup and retrospectives.
- Estimate, plan and manage documentation project timelines and priorities.
- Manage multiple writing projects or work streams simultaneously.
- Provide feedback to product teams from an end-user perspective.
- Learn and use XML-based authoring tools and content management systems.
- Work with additional technical writing tools as needed.
- Follow process, style, quality and brand guidelines.
- Lead special documentation projects within the department as needed.
Experience and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science, life sciences, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology or a related field.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Writing experience in a scientific environment or the life sciences industry.
- Ability to understand, analyze and clearly communicate complex technical and scientific concepts.
- Experience managing multiple projects or work streams, including setting timelines and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with topic-based authoring using DITA.
- Experience with XML authoring tools.
- Experience with component content management systems.
- Knowledge of relevant style guides.
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS markup languages.
- Experience with graphic design tools.
- Experience creating user guides, technical manuals, instructions for use or product documentation.

Salary 2,625.00–3,937.50 EUR gross/month (Final salary will depend on the selected candidate’s experience, skills and competencies.)
